The PhD Programme with a joint diploma granted by the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) and the University of Minho (UMinho) with a partnership of the University of Wageningen (WUR) and the Polytechnic University of València (UPV).
The PhD Agricultural Production Chains – From Fork to Farm (AgriChains) covers issues related to the Agricultural production chains in order to assure competitiveness via the transfer of knowledge from high skilled and experienced teachers and researchers. The programme is aimed at highly motivated students, addressing studies that solve challenging questions regarding Agricultural production chain inputs. The training through research programme, tailored to meet the scientific interest of the students, is very flexible, with a strong laboratorial component driven by innovation and a strong link with companies.
AgriChains adopts a completely new approach towards the Agricultural production chains concept. AgriChains fills gaps in this study by providing students with new skills and training. The result is a multidisciplinary programme organised by high ranking Institutions with a reputation for excellence, leadership in teaching and training, high quality research projects, and a stimulating working environment that includes entrepreneurship perspectives.
The programme is coordinated by Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB/UTAD and CITAB/Pole of University of Minho) in collaboration with the Chemistry Centre of Vila Real (CQVR). Teaching and training relies on the expertise and excellence of AgriChains international partners, the Polytechnic University of València (UPV) and Wageningen University (WUR).
